  • June: 10, 17, 24
  • July: 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
  • Aug: 5, 12, 19, 26
  • Sept: 2, 9, 16 (makeup)

Solstice Race, 21 June

The Solstice Race was begun in the late 1990’s as the Rockland Yacht Club has held an annual race on the Saturday closest to the longest day of the year. Aptly named the Solstice Race, this event is held around government marks in West Penobscot Bay. Racers can look forward to friendly, spirited competition, and a chance to knock the rust from sailing skills and reflexesdulled by our long Maine winters. Throw in a post-race BBQ and potluck at the Rockland Clubhouse, with trophies awarded to one design, spinnaker, and cruising divisions. This is the reward for those who get their boats in early and come out to mix it up!

Scholarship Race, 16 August

The Scholarship Race, held in partnership with the Sail, Power, and Steam Museum, aims to raise funds for educational opportunities for three local youth sailing programs in Midcoast Maine. This event is held around the government marks in West Penobscot Bay followed by an after-party and awards ceremony.

Maine Rocks Race, 13-14 September

The Maine Rocks Race is a short-handed race of over 100 nautical miles. This race is a test of endurance and seamanship, offering participating sailors the opportunity to sharpen their short-handed offshore sailing skills and refine systems and procedures for short-handed passage-making.

For registration, NOR and sailing instructions for each individual race, please see information on Regatta Man.
